My Story
Hi y'all! I’m Jennyfer, a committed birth and postpartum doula with a passion for honoring the journey of childbirth and the remarkable transitions of womanhood. Coming from a traditional Mexican background, my love of catering to others came early on. The culture clash quickly became one of my biggest love languages- serving others before myself, cleaning up after having guests over, making sure everyone was okay. Regardless of whether your privilege in the developed world perceives oppression, I quickly realized that this issue transcends cultural boundaries and is often instilled in certain households as a means of expressing affection.
As a child, I loved reading and writing, I was always the "teachers pet" and I also really enjoyed running. I seemed to always be an escape from reality. As the years led up to college, I was granted a full student- athletic scholarship. While in college studying to become an elementary school teacher, something I've always wanted to be for as long as I could remember, I unfortunately went through a loss of my own- a miscarriage. I found myself bed ridden instead of being at nationals for triathlon. Being on scholarship only gave me so much recovery time and I went back to "normal life" real quick, forcing me to shove my feelings to the side and not speak about it to anyone. One day I woke up and realized that I didn't have to feel stuck, or like I failed my body or that I was alone- because I wasn't! I could turn my grief into gratitude. GOOD GRIEF.
I graduated college with a double major in English and Education and two weeks later graduated from DONA's doula program. As I taught elementary school for some years, I found myself having to make a big decision as it became difficult to juggle the both- continue teaching my students or honoring the remarkable transitions of womanhood.
Since then, I have re-certified through MAMA DOULA, as the little girl who pursued comfort through learning never left. I am also an advocate for Share Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support, an organization that supports those who lives have been affected by the death of a baby during pregnancy, stillbirth, or in the first few months of life. When I am not supporting a birth or postpartum family, you can find me in my kitchen coming up with new postpartum recipes or baking lactation goods, at the gym, or surrounded by family and friends. With a deep passion for everything related to this beautiful experience, my mission is to provide everything I wish I could have received- guidance, comfort, and care every step of the way by creating a nurturing environment that empowers you (and your family) as you embrace and learn how to navigate this incredible chapter of life.
Thank you for allowing to be part of your journey!

As a first time mom, I owe it all to Jenny for having such a beautiful and memorable experience. Throughout my pregnancy, my husband and I were educated so much on things we didn’t even think about, easing any fears I had. At the home birth, Jenny made me feel so supported by giving me words of encouragement, assisting with pain management using her rebozo wrap, massages, and making the room smell like peppermint. After birth, she made the transition from wife to mother an easy one. She was with us originally for 1 month and ended up extending the contract. She was so reliable and was always there for me. From checking up on my mental health to belly bind wrapping me every other day, even encapsulating my placenta, I can’t thank her enough.

From mentally getting me prepared and educated to setting up a cozy labor room, Jennyfer was there in every way possibly needed. She helped me prepare to welcome my third baby. She supported my decision on no epidural and unnecessary check ups, and encouraged me to listen to my body. I can go on and on and tell you all the positives that Jennyfer brought into my home and labor room but you will need to just see it for yourself! I call her my doula angel.

Being from a hispanic family, the misconceptions about birth and having a doula when you have your own mother is high & bright. By Jennyfer supporting me in the labor room and reminding my husband to support me when I needed it the most, and was able to remind me that it was MY pregnancy story. To most, my pregnancy and birth might’ve looked like a “lucky” one, but it wouldn’t have been possible without Jenny. Her presence and encouragement meant everything & we will definitely circle back when we expand our family again.

Jennyfer got Eli into a sleep/ feed schedule during the night and ensured he was receiving the right amount of ounces. She also educated me on the importance of pumping while teaching me on how to keep my milk supply. As a new mom who had no idea where to begin, she helped me feel more confident. I also thought it was so sweet of her for making me lactational bread loafs and hot chocolate, it was delicious!
